The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
