Approximately twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the region, producing strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.

The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.

Health Warning

Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
